Yesterday the infamous Pontiac Sunfire driven by Casey Anthony that contained the smell of death according to many was scrapped in an Orlando-area junkyard.
I wondered what would become of the car. I mean, who was really going to drive it after it was, according to the prosecution, where Caylee's remains were before they were dumped in an empty lot near her home.
Could you imagine the controversy over selling that car? Scrapping it was the best way to help put the past in the past.
Caylee's birthday came and went without Casey making her whereabouts known but now, Judge Belvin Perry has given her until August 26th to return to Orlando to begin a year of probation.
This should be interesting.
Terms of probation include holding a job (who is going to hire her?), not doing illegal drugs (okay) and not overindulging in alcohol.
The talk is that Casey has a 6 figure book deal and with public outrage still quite strong, I find it hard to believe that anyone would purchase a book written (or ghost-written) by Casey Anthony.
What story does Casey Anthony have to tell and with her own lawyer admitting that she is a liar, who would buy her book of fiction?
There are plenty of struggling fiction authors out there who are far more deserving of getting book sales.
Acquittal aside, Casey Anthony knows what happened to her daughter and she kept quiet while the world worried, looked for and mourned her child. Maybe the state of Florida could not find proof enough to convict her of a crime but the facts remain that Casey Anthony is far from innocent.
The trial is over but the Casey Anthony story is not. As Casey continues to hide from the public eye, the anger over Casey's acquittal still is strong.

Casey Anthony In Hiding
According to Nancy Grace, Casey Anthony is lying low in the Prescott, Arizona area while her "people" shop for deals for her.
Meanwhile, all her parents have heard from her is a simple text message from Jose Baez saying that "she's safe".
That's nice. Cindy Anthony perjures herself on the stand (read about possible charges here ) her defense team accuses her father and brother of molesting her (read "Dirty Secrets or Lies" ) and they do not even get a phone call?
Although Cindy Anthony did escape perjury charges read more here
she did stand by her daughter even when she found out that Casey was spinning more tales about what really happened to Caylee.
Maybe Casey's defense team is figuring that if they allow just enough time to pass the public will forget about what a liar Casey is and we will believe her story when she finally gets paid enough to tell it. Reconciling with her family would kind of destroy the whole "my dad abused me so that's why I lie" defense.
In the meantime, private jets and accommodations cost money. I guess someone is footing the bill until Casey can get paid from profiting off the death of Caylee Anthony.
In recent polls, people feel strongly about not supporting anything that would put money in Casey's pocket but many people also admit that they would watch her tell her story in an interview.
Would you watch Casey tell her story?

Casey Anthony Released From Jail But She is Not Free
An update to this morning's post, Casey Anthony, accompanied by her defense attorney Jose Baez, left the Orange County jail shortly after midnight.
The SUV they got into headed downtown towards Jose's office.
It was later reported that Casey (in different clothing and her hair down in a ponytail) was seen running across to a waiting private plane at a nearby small airport.
Destination unknown but one thing is for sure, CASEY ANTHONY WILL NEVER BE FREE!
With $530 and change in her pocket, no job, education or deal (yet) to make money off of her acquittal and Caylee's demise, her future is unknown.
There are plenty who say that she was found innocent and everyone needs to "let this go". I say NO. Never forget the innocent toddler whose body was dumped in the woods like trash.
Always remember Caylee and even if the state could not prove that Casey murdered Caylee, Casey knows the truth about what happened to Caylee.
Boycott any organization that pays Casey or the Anthony family money for their story. Those responsible for this child's death should not profit from it.
This is why the story needs to stay fresh in our minds.
Let us not forget that someone in that family dumped that child in the woods.

Casey Set Free
A few minutes after midnight, Casey Anthony left the Orange County Jail with her attorney Jose Baez. She got into a dark-colored SUV and sped off to points unknown.
More than 1,000 protesters stood outside the jail holding signs but once the crowd became aware that she had been released and left the property they dispersed and it was over.
Casey showed no emotion and reports were that she was afraid to leave the safety of the jail. Glad to hear that a bit of reality has sunken in to this narcissistic woman.
No one seems to have any idea where Casey was headed and I am sure that in the next few days there will be plenty of speculation. It was already reported that a small plane took off about 1 a.m. headed for Ohio (where Casey was born) but it actually held some golfers not Casey as many thought.
Hiding Casey will not be easy. Although she has spent the last 3 years in solitary confinement in prison, being out in the real world and not being able to be free as she probably would want is some sort of justice.
This story is not going to die down anytime soon because of the lawsuits filed against her. She left jail with approximately $500 that was mostly donations for her to buy snacks and personal items while behind bars. Five hundred dollars is not going to go far. No job, no home, no money (yet).
I cannot imagine Casey Anthony sitting in the local welfare office applying for aid, can you?

Jurors Speak
As jurors finally come forward to speak about the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial, we get a glimpse into what they saw versus what we at home were seeing during the trial.
It really is not a surprise to me (and it should not be to anyone) if you think about the law and really look at what was presented to them.
You cannot decide someone's fate (yes even Casey Anthony's) through emotion alone. It just is not right.
Did the state give us any indication how, where, when or why Casey chloroformed Caylee? NO. Computer searches do not prove she did anything.
There was no cause of death. That was huge to the jurors. We did not even know when Caylee died. How do you charge someone with murder when you cannot prove it?
Yes, if you look at the remains with the duct tape placed upon the face, dumped in a swampy wooded area it will lead you to believe that this must be homicide. The problem is that there was no solid proof who put the duct tape on Caylee and dumped her body there.
Casey lied. Casey always lies. George Anthony was combative on the stand which made him look like a liar. He was the last person to see Caylee with Casey. How can the jurors believe him?
Cindy is a liar also. Lee is a liar also. The family helped to cause the jurors reasonable doubt just by them exposing who they are.
The state of Florida was outraged over a mother who does not report her child missing for 31 days and then wastes the time of the police and investigators by her continuing to lie. They overcharged her because of the outrage. Had they had the solid proof to convict, it would have been a no-brainer.
We all want someone to pay for the disgusting way this child was dumped like garbage. The truth is that the jurors felt that they did not have enough evidence to convict. Although they (the jurors) felt ill over the verdict, they had no choice but to acquit.
Although we feel outrage, we need to put aside our emotions and realize that although we feel Casey knows what happened, there was no proof to convict.

A Mother's Love
A mother (most of them) will do anything to protect their child no matter what!
This is just one of the many reasons why people are so fascinated and drawn to this trial.
Cindy Anthony loves her daughter Casey. There is absolutely no doubt. Why else would she get on the stand as a witness for the defense and lie.
Little does Cindy Anthony realize but her lies only hurt Casey Anthony. First of all, we see where Casey gets it from. Secondly, the jury knows she was lying. The prosecution just about accused her of lying. Certainly the jury figured it out. Cindy was trying to protect Casey.
I feel for her as a mother. I could not easily forgive my daughter for having any part in my grandchild's death. I certainly don't think it would be easy for me to lie for her.
The bombshell of the day was that Cindy Anthony alleges that it was she who searched the family computer for chloroform and neck breaking. She changed her answers from the deposition that she had given to the prosecution saying that her memory is better now and also that they didn't ask her these questions specifically. Needless to say, after Cindy figured out that Casey was responsible for taking her granddaughter away from her she changed her tune about a lot.
The smell of a damn dead body in the car became just pizza rotting in the hot Florida heat.
I get it. It is unimaginable to think that you could have raised a monster like Casey. Your beloved granddaughter's death was at your own daughter's hands. It is a nightmare. One nightmare that will not be over any time soon.

George and Cindy Anthony Face the Truth
Mark Lippman, attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, made a statement last night where he said that his clients "do not think Casey is innocent" and they do not want to see their daughter get the death penalty.
To me, it is a great relief that these parents are finally accepting the truth about their daughter, as awful as it is, because I firmly believe that although denial is a coping mechanism, you cannot live your life in denial. The pain that these parents/grandparents are living with is unimaginable.
The attorney also said that they understand that the defense is trying to save their client's life but I wonder how they feel about George being blamed for taking part in a crime. They did deny any knowledge and disputed that anything the defense claimed took place.
Most parents cannot help but love their child no matter what but tough love comes into play when the child (adult or not) behaves in a way that is criminal or self-abusive. George and Cindy Anthony said they continue to stand by their child but I don't think that either of them will take the blame for her crime.
It is quite possible that Cindy Anthony will be called by the defense today. Updates on the day's testimonies later.

Rumours and Speculation
The Casey Anthony murder trial is like a soap opera/reality show that has gotten attention all over the globe.
The cast of characters are complex and as the defense continues to attempt to poke holes in the prosecution case, new rumors are circulating about possible witnesses.
One person people are speculating about is a woman who was in jail the same time as Casey. (she was in for driving on a suspended license) What makes her interesting is that she lost a child in a backyard drowning. Her child's grandfather found the body (sound familiar?) but 911 was called and there were no charges.
Could Casey have gotten the "idea" for her defense from hearing this story while behind bars?
The woman says she never had any conversations with Casey but jail walls are thin and it is possible that Casey overheard her talking about her story. The prosecution could use this in their rebuttal.
The other rumor is regarding a woman who says she had a relationship with George Anthony. Reports are conflicting about this woman. Some news reports are that she and George were "just friends" and others call it an "affair". The defense has this woman listed as a witness to further drag George Anthony's character into the mud.
This woman alleges that George Anthony told her that Caylee's death was an accident that snowballed out of control. Okay. She is using the same words Jose Baez did in his shocking opening statement. Do I believe this? No, I really don't. Why did she not come forward when Caylee was reported missing? Why did she not come forward when she first found out?
Remember she is a witness for the defense. If she cared about Justice for Caylee, wouldn't she be a witness for the prosecution?
Meanwhile, Linda Kenney Bodan, who was formerly a member of Casey's defense team, has been making the rounds of the nighttime cable shows that seem to have dedicated all their programming to the trial. I despise defense attorneys. I cannot help myself. You can always create reasonable doubt but when you are doing so in a case where someone is obviously guilty of a horrendous crime, well, karma will get you.
She again was saying that there are so many "facts" that the public does not know. Really Linda? Well, what is Jose Baez waiting for? He bores us all with witnesses who are not proving anything and is holding onto the "proof" that Casey is innocent? That doesn't sound right to me.
Personally I think Ms.Bodan is full of sh@t. She can say anything she wants to "spin" this but there is no real credible explanation for Casey Anthony's behavior. If there is- bring on the proof.

Fireworks at the Casey Anthony Trial
Saturday testimony in the Casey Anthony trial brought plenty of fireworks inside the courtroom. Jose Baez's first witness was cut short when the prosecution objected to his testimony. It seems that Baez failed to share information with the prosecution prior to this witness taking the stand which is in clear violation of the court order in this case.
Judge Perry took control of the proceedings by warning both Baez and the prosecution that he is fully aware of the game playing that is going on with both sides. He further warned Baez that because of his intentional actions regarding his first witness of the day he is contemplating contempt charges against Baez once the trial has concluded.
Jose Baez is inexperienced and this shows. He also is slick and that fact doesn't go unnoticed by the Judge.
Jose Baez next called Dr. Werner Spitz to the stand. Dr. Spitz did the second autopsy on Caylee's remains. This man has participated in over 60,000 autopsies in his career that spans over 40 years. He has worked on high-profile cases and is well-respected. (how does an indigent young woman pay for these experts?)
Anyhow, Dr. Spitz's opinion is that the duct tape was placed on the body after death and was not the cause of death.
(this blows the prosecution's case - if you believe him, that is)
Dr. Spitz also contraindicated Dr.G's testimony that because of the circumstances surrounding Caylee's disappearance (no one reporting her missing, being found discarded like trash and duct tape found on the skull) that once could conclude this was a homicide.
In Dr.Spitz's opinion - since no cause of death can be concluded, this could have been an accident.
What do you think the jurors are thinking about this highly-educated, experienced forensic expert?
Maybe there is no medical scientific proof that shows how Caylee died but what about the circumstantial evidence?
Do you think the jury buys the defense's claims that Caylee drowned and her body was dumped by someone other than Casey? Does anyone really believe that Casey's lies about a mysterious (make-believe) nanny are just the delusions of a young woman so damaged from being a victim of sexual abuse that she is unable to tell the truth?
To me, this case just got very complicated. I agree with Dr.G that it may look like a homicide because of the duct tape on the skull.
Dr. Spitz also insists that there would be evidence on the duct tape. I disagree. The area was flooded, animals had ripped apart the remains, the duct tape was submerged, how could there be fingerprints?
He also said that he believes the scene was manipulated to look like a murder. Really? By whom? Ray Kronk the man who discovered Caylee's remains?
All I can say is that the defense team got themselves one helluva good expert in Dr.Spitz. His experience will make a jury question whether this was a murder at all. Does the jury have to buy the rest of the defense's story to acquit Casey?
As good as the prosecution is, they could not make Dr. Spitz look bad. Will this testimony be enough for Casey to walk free?
I also wonder if Cindy Anthony (who was in the courtroom) is thinking that maybe Casey didn't murder Caylee.
Yes. I am sorry but, she said she is there for the truth. Can this witness make Casey look innocent|?

Defense Fights Back
Yesterday was 3 years since Caylee Anthony was last seen alive and the defense began to present its case.
Jose Baez called an FBI expert to the stand and showed that no blood or DNA was found in Casey's car, on the pants she was wearing on June 16th or on the duct tape found with Caylee's body.
Then the fireworks began when Jose brought up the paternity testing done by the FBI. He tried to show that it was the police investigators that requested that Lee Anthony (brother of Casey) was suspected to be Caylee's father.
First of all- what did this have to do with Caylee's disappearance? I get why Jose Baez is trying to bring this in...how else can he back up his client's claims of being sexually molested.
Unless the defense has some kind of bombshell (which I don't think they have), the jury is still going to wonder why did Casey Anthony (or her attorney) allowed her to stay in prison for almost 3 years if it was just an accident. WHY wouldn't he have gone to the police and said "hey, this is what happened"?
There is only one reason why. THE DEFENSE'S STORY (LIKE EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT OF CASEY'S MOUTH) IS A LIE!

Request for an Acquittal
After the state rested its case, the defense made their plea for the judge to acquit Casey Anthony.
This is normal procedure and it was interesting to listen to defense attorney Cheney Mason argue his reasons why the prosecutions case against his client is based upon speculation.
Cheney Mason does make some good points. Here they are as I see them.
1- No one knows when Caylee died.
2-Although at least 18 witnesses testified to Casey's character, no one said that Casey was a bad mother.
3- Pre-meditation needs to be shown for a death penalty case. The prosecution was lacking in this area.
Are these three reasons enough? I don't know. This case is based upon a lot of speculation, coincidence and because of the lies of Casey Anthony we cannot believe a word that she says.
Today marks 3 years since Caylee Marie Anthony was last seen alive. As cable shows broadcast the last video taken of Caylee on Father's Day when she visited her great-grandfather, I watch this video and I feel sadness. What kind of a sick person would take the life of this sweet little girl?
I have watched Casey Anthony during these court proceedings. I like her even less than I did the first time I ever saw her when the first interrogations with police were broadcast almost 3 years ago.
Her coldness, her lies, her almost arrogant attitude just made me want to shake her. Even a mother who has not bonded properly with her child would have some level of emotion regarding a missing child. She had none then and she has none now.
Her phony tears are all about Casey. If Judge Perry indeed grants the judge's motion for acquittal, I guarantee Casey Anthony will not live happily ever after. There is far too much anger over this case for anyone to allow Casey to just go back to life as normal.
If the Judge does anything, I am sure that all he would do is perhaps reduce the murder charges but it really is unlikely.
Casey Anthony is a monster. I feel sorry for Cindy Anthony and for George Anthony. Their granddaughter is dead and they are going to have to live with knowing that their own daughter is responsible.Cindy Anthony's denial has been so strong (perhaps it is what gets her through the day) that even if a jury convicts her daughter will she be able to accept it as the truth?

The Prosecution Presents Its Last Witness
The prosecution finished up with its last witnesses today. Cindy Anthony testified to the items that were removed from the house during the police search. She was asked again about duct tape but could only recall seeing black duct tape and not the grey tape that the case seems to be hanging on. During cross examination, Jose Baez desperately tried to link the duct tape to George Anthony. I do say desperately. Cindy Anthony was the prosecution’s last witness and honestly, she seemed hesitant in her answers both to the prosecutor and to Jose Baez.
This is a woman caught in the middle.
Her daughter is on trial for her life. The defense attorney has already accused her husband of molesting her daughter and called her family dysfunctional. The defense is desperately trying to make the jury think that her husband was involved somehow in covering up the death of her beloved granddaughter.
The prosecution is trying to prove that her daughter killed her granddaughter.
It’s got to be stressful to be Cindy Anthony.
Unlike Cindy’s earlier testimony which was highly emotional, during today’s testimony Cindy seemed to be more in control and careful about her responses. Is she trying to help her daughter?
No one knows how it would be to be so torn like Cindy Anthony is. She had said that she and her husband wanted to be in the courtroom because they need to find out the truth. If Cindy Anthony is still trying to protect Casey, does this mean she still believes in Zanny the nanny???
Really?
The final witness was the tattoo artist who famously tattooed “Bella Vita” on Casey’s left shoulder on July 2nd, 2008. This was during the 31 days that Caylee hadn’t been seen. The tattoo artist said he had known Casey for about 7 years and like others, testified that Casey seemed “normal”. Whatever normal is for Casey Anthony; everyone seemed to testify that during those 31 days Casey told no one that Caylee was missing or dead.
The prosecution is expected to finish up in the morning and then rest their case. The defense will begin on Thursday and it is anyone’s guess what they will do.
Will Casey Anthony testify? In his opening statement, Jose Baez said that the jury would hear about the sexual abuse Casey endured. Could you imagine what the prosecution would do with Casey Anthony on the stand?
In my opinion, it (Casey testifying) will never happen. According to the buzz, defense attorneys often make claims in their opening statements that they never make good on. Casey’s defense made a huge mistake when they attempted to turn this case into “an accident that snowballed into a big cover-up”.
If it truly was an accident, why did Jose Baez allow his client to sit in jail for almost 3 years? Wouldn’t he have tried to get her out once he found out the “circumstances”?
Time will tell if the jury buys what the prosecution presented. I certainly don’t think any of the jurors will buy Jose Baez’/Casey Anthony’s twisted tale.
A Monster Disguised as the Girl Next Door
The Heart shaped image on duct tape found on the skull of Caylee Anthony's remains is something that the defense fought to eliminate from the prosecution's evidence. Jose Baez stated that it was detrimental to his client.
You just have to laugh at defense attorneys. Of course it makes Casey Anthony look bad.
We already know (testimony was given) that similar heart-shaped stickers were found in Casey's bedroom. If George Anthony disposed of the body as the defense claims, do you really think he took the time to go through Casey's stuff, find a heart-shaped sticker and put it on the duct tape that was placed over Caylee's mouth and nose?
What continues to fascinate people is the unfathomable idea that a seemingly "normal" looking young woman had no concern for this sweet little child.
During Saturday's testimony by a bug expert, Casey Anthony laughed out loud while Jose Baez debated whether it was "garbage" or "trash" that certain bugs were attracted to. This was after the expert was described the maggots and other bugs found with her daughter's skeletal remains.
Yes. She laughed. Not just once either. The kind of laugh that was almost an uncontrollable giggle. The look in her eyes while she laughed was chilling. They are discussing the bugs found feeding off of your dead child and Casey laughs??????
There are not words strong enough to describe what a monster Casey Anthony is. In my mind, there are no excuses for Caylee's death or Casey's actions.
I guess what is the hardest lesson learned from this tragedy is that monsters can look just like the girl next door. They can come from families that are not perfect but what family is?

Do Cadaver Dogs Lie?
Cadaver dogs have no reason to lie. They are specifically trained to sniff out what humans often miss. Although many people in law enforcement know the smell of human decomposition, a trained cadaver dog has no reason to lie.
What I have seen as a possibly circumstantial case against Casey Anthony may have moved into proving more of a case today. The prosecution has been following a timeline which is similar to a soap opera building to the finale. We have heard George and Cindy Anthony testify to the smell in their daughter's car. We have heard a tow truck operator who knew the smell also as being human decomposition because of his past experience. We have heard police testify to also smelling the "smell". Yesterday we had the scientist from the famous "Body Farm" whose very research involves human decomposition also identify the smell in Casey's car as coming from human decomposition.Today, we had a police dog handler testify to a cadaver dog smelling the "smell:.
Just as the prosecution put on several witnesses who testified to Casey's almost natural ability to lie, now we have had several people testifying to the smell in her car.
Jose Baez tried to say that the only reason the dog identified the "smell" was because he wanted to be rewarded.
Jose is going to have to do better than that.
The cadaver dog smelled human decomposition by Caylee's play house. The theory is that Casey first put Caylee's body there and then moved it. That would explain why the dogs smelled the smell but found no body. It wasn't a failure of the cadaver dogs. They smelled the smell; the body had been moved.
Tomorrow another dog handler is expected to testify.
As the prosecution continues to present its case against Casey Anthony, what do you think? Is the prosecution building their case and do you think that they will be able to prove that Casey murdered Caylee?
Will there be justice for Caylee?

Cindy Anthony Breaks Down on the Stand
Cindy Anthony broke down on the stand today although according to reporters that were in the courtroom, the jury probably did not notice. The three 911 calls that Cindy made in July 2008 were played and the jury was following along with reading the transcript instead of witnessing the grief-stricken grandmother relive what began her family's nightmare.
For those who were in the courtroom or watching it on television it was painful. Cindy's emotion on the 911 call that she made immediately after overhearing Casey tell her brother Lee that Caylee had been missing for 31 days was so raw that you couldn't help but feel for this woman.
Meanwhile, Casey sat there and although at times, appeared to wipe tears away, it looked like she was more annoyed than upset.
Cindy Anthony was so overcome with emotion after listening to these tapes that she asked the judge for a recess. It disgusts me that the prosecution allowed her to sit there obviously suffering and not ask for her to be removed so she could go and compose herself.
The other tape that was equally as powerful (and damning to the defense) was the first call that Casey made from jail to her family. In this call she complains to her friend who is at the house that "all they care about is getting Caylee back".
Wow. Of course I had heard this tape before (over and over again) but listening to it after Cindy Anthony's painful discovery that little Caylee has been "taken" and Casey hasn't seen her for 31 days, well...I can only imagine what the jury was thinking.
I will tell you what I was thinking, I sure hope that the prosecution can prove that she killed her daughter because this just shows how cold and heartless this young woman is.
So far, the prosecution has been following their timeline and now we have reached the "moment" where the world finds out that Caylee has been missing for 31 days. I imagine that her brother Lee will be called soon and hopefully, hopefully there will be some real "proof" that answers the mystery of what really happened to Caylee Anthony and punishes the person (or persons) that are responsible for this little girl's death.

Can't You Smell That Smell?
This afternoon, the testimony was all about the smell. In between showing Casey the party girl by way of testimony from ex-boyfriends and acquintenances, the focus was on the car.
Yesterday several witnesses who had been in Casey's car after the 16th of June (Caylee's alleged drowning according to the defense) did not smell anything!
Today, the tow yard manager and George Anthony both testified to smelling a smell that they thought was a decomposing body.
Okay- let's stop right there. They later found out when the two of them opened the trunk that there was a bag of rotting garbage in the trunk but previous to that, both men smelled what they thought was a dead body.
Why did neither of them call the police? Didn't the tow yard have some kind of moral responsibility to do that, especially since the Anthony's did not respond when notified about the car being towed?
George Anthony, a former police detective, admitted to the tow yard manager that his daughter and granddaughter were missing but he didn't call the police either! HUH?????
Let us set aside the idea that George was a retired police detective. Once a cop, always a cop. This is what stinks to me. How about you?

Testimony Continues
After yesterday’s bombshell beginning from the defense, today was boring in comparison. The roommates of Tony Lazzaro (Casey’s boyfriend at the time of Caylee’s disappearance/death) testified that they noticed no difference in Casey’s demeanor and the prosecution showed that they (the roommates) all assumed that when Casey would leave the apartment in the morning that she was going to work.
They had met Caylee but said that Caylee never spent the night at the apartment.
Even Tony Lazzaro who began dating Casey in mid-May admitted that until June 16th he had seen Caylee on several occasions but had not seen her after June 15th.
Tony had asked Casey where Caylee was and always got the answer that she was either with Casey’s mother or with “Zanny”. What bugs me the most about Tony Lazzaro is this:
According to Tony Lazzaro, Casey was living with him as of June 16th and it never occurred to him that there was something wrong because he never again saw Caylee?
Was the sex that good that it slipped his mind that his girlfriend had a child?
Did it not occur to him that why was Caylee never with her own mother???
I asked my 21 year old son who formerly lived in an apartment that he shared with roommates on his take about the roommates of Tony Lazzaro. He and I agree that they would not think twice about where Caylee was because honestly, they wouldn’t be giving much thought to the business of their roommate’s girlfriend.
Both roommates did ask where Caylee was and both were told with Casey’s mother or with a nanny. They never gave it a second thought. That is very believable to me.
But Tony Lazzaro? Casey was living with you. He knew she had a child because he had met her. All of a sudden your girlfriend’s daughter is never around and she is never with her and that doesn’t bother you????
Okay. Enough ranting about this.
Television commentators are saying that the prosecution did well today. Actually, the vote was in favor of the prosecution but some commentators felt that the defense scored points today also.
I don’t know.
For a time I was losing interest after shot girl after shot girl was interviewed. The Fusion nightclub where Casey partied on Friday nights with Tony Lazzaro seemed to be a big point for the prosecution. Okay…I get it. Casey was out partying. The shot girls didn’t seem to even know Casey all that well and they testified that she never told them anything about her daughter being missing and didn’t appear troubled.
When Jose Baez asked one of Tony Lazzaro’s roommates if they were at the Anthony house on June 16th when Caylee drowned maybe he was going a bit too far. The judge allowed this question which was really surprising.
The neighbor of the Anthony’s who Casey borrowed a shovel from (for 1 HOUR!) said that he saw Casey’s car back into the garage. HE DID NOT SAY THAT HE SAW CASEY DRIVING IT!!!! HELLO? Did anyone else catch that?
Jose Baez didn’t either.
Tomorrow morning Tony Lazzaro will be back on the stand so that Jose Baez can finish cross-examining him. My take on Tony? He seemed a bit sarcastic and maybe even signs of a guy who may have genuinely liked Casey Anthony but now feels betrayed and disgusted by her.
I think he was one dumb guy. Why didn’t he see the signals that there was something “off” about Casey Anthony?
We will see what happens tomorrow.
Who's Up Next?
This morning the Casey Anthony trial continues.
After yesterday's disturbing revelations/accusations by Casey's attorney Jose Baez that not only was there no murder just an accident that spinned out of control and that Casey was a sex abuse victim, the majority seem to feel that this is just another Casey lie.
Could you imagine being a juror on this trial?
I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that those 12 jurors and 5 alternates know nothing about the case that started back in July of 2008 when Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her grandmother Cindy. All the drama and sensationalism that followed, the leaking of "evidence" and the trashing of a young woman (okay- not really trashing- she behaved badly) would make it impossible for people to not form an opinion.
It is the defense' job to create reasonable doubt. I am the minority here but Jose Baez did give me a few things to ponder. I am not saying that I believe Casey's abuse story. The jailhouse conversations between father and daughter don't appear to be those of someone who was in fear of her father- quite the opposite, she acted like a brat.
Is Casey Anthony the overindulged, spoiled, irresponsible mom or is she a disturbed victim of a dysfunctional family?
What really happened to Caylee? Will we ever know the truth?

Do YOU Believe it?????
Wow. What an opening day in the case of Florida against Casey Anthony.
I watched as the prosecution opened this morning with a very drawn-out opening statement going day by day from the time Caylee Anthony was last (allegedly) seen by her grandfather George detailing what Casey did every day, what Cindy did every day and thought to myself I am glad I am not a juror!
Okay. I got the point. From the time Caylee was missing, Casey didn't report it and instead carried on with the "good life".
Problem is that aside from being able to prove that Casey danced and partied, the rest of the case is circumstancial evidence. Yes, Casey lied to the police. Casey lied to just about everyone that she has ever come into contact with. Does that mean she maliciously murdered her child? I just cannot say that it does.
Court broke for lunch and I anxiously awaited to hear from the defense. Nothing the prosecution said surprised me...I had heard it all before. The only interesting thing was how they chose to present their case against the "Tot Mom".
The defense started and as promised, floored us.
Casey didn't report Caylee missing because she had drowned in the family pool and her father had found her lifeless body.
Casey went along with her father's coverup because she was afraid that she would be charged with neglect.
No big bombshell that Casey is alleging that her father sexually abused her from the time she was eight years old. In my previous post that exposed Casey's jailhouse letters, she eludes to that realization. She names her brother as another molestor.
Wow Wow Wow
I watched a little bit of the commentators reactions to the defenses' allegations and I am surprised that not one commentator believes the defense story.
I have been "under the weather" the past few days with a miserable sinus infection. (I am telling you this so I can plead "not in my right mind")
I don't know but I can believe that Casey possibly was abused. Victims of sexual abuse can act the way that she has.
What I don't get is why George didn't attempt CPR or call 911. THAT makes no sense to me.
Maybe that is why no one believes this story.
Earlier in the day, when I posted the defense theory/story or whatever you want to call it, people overwhelmingly reacted the same. No one believes Casey Anthony's story.
I think it is perfectly believable that Caylee could have drowned in the pool.
I believe that the Anthony family is one screwed up bunch with more skeletons in their closet than the average family.
Do I believe that George and Cindy Anthony are the "poor, suffering parents/grandparents" and are innocent?
HELL NO! Not for one second.
George Anthony could not look Jose Baez in the eye when he was asked if there was any sexual misconduct between himself and Casey.
Body language doesn't lie.
George Anthony also could not look Jose Baez in the eye when he was asked if he was there was Caylee drowned in the backyard pool.
So, if I, a relatively intelligent woman who watches Investigation Discovery Channel faithfully, believes a part of the defense's story- what about the jury????
I predict a hung jury. I do not believe that the prosecution will be able to prove without a reasonable doubt that this child was murdered. The medical examiner could not say what the cause of death was. Homicide was possible only because of her age and because of the duct tape on the skull.
Okay. Enough rambling...I have weeks left to ramble about this case.
Take a second look at George Anthony's testimony. Do some research about sexual abuse victims. Jose Baez may be a better attorney than we all expected and Casey Anthony may be more than a liar.
This case just got a little more complicated.
Oh, btw. Johnnie Cochran was a fabulous attorney but I never for one second believed that OJ was not guilty. (don't know why I threw that in there but guess I just wanted to say that I am not drawn in by a good lawyer)

One More Day
Tuesday morning @ 9 a.m., opening statements will be made in the Casey Anthony trial.
As someone who has followed this disturbing case since I first heard about Caylee Anthony's disappearance, I can hardly believe that the day is finally coming where Casey Anthony's defense will have to explain why she didn't report her child missing.
Technically, it is the state who has the harder case to prove. This is a death-penalty case and personally, I think that is a huge mistake. The anger that people feel about the circumstances surrounding Caylee's disappearance and months later finding her skeletal remains touches so many. The horrible tragedy of a 2 year old child being discarded like trash touches anyone with a heart.
It is easy for us to sit back and judge Casey Anthony. Another young, unwed mother who is suspected of killing her daughter. There are many of them although their cases are not as publicized as the Casey/Caylee Anthony case. For whatever reason, this case drew national attention that had and still has people outraged.
Is there an excuse for Casey Anthony's behavior while her daughter was missing? The only thing that I could think of is that she was unaware that her daughter was missing. Perhaps the story is that she left Caylee in the care of someone else while she took a break from being a mother. We can judge her behavior all we want but just because she was out drinking and acting like many 20-somethings do, does that make her a murderer?
The defense doesn't have to prove who killed Caylee; they only need to prove that Casey didn't. If they claim that someone else was caring for Caylee when she disappeared, do they need to prove this person's existence? In my mind the answer is yes. If Casey's defense is going to be that she left her daughter in the care of someone else and then when she realized that she couldn't find this person and panicked and was scared to say anything- is that a good-enough defense?
I would say that all depends upon what kind of concrete proof the prosecution has. The "odor" of a dead body in the trunk of her car, for example. How do you explain that, if it can be proven that there is a stain and an odor of a dead body? Casey was the last person seen with Caylee. Caylee's body is found months later but prior to that, Casey's car is found and both of her parents (one with a police background and the other a nurse-both familiar with what "dead bodies" smell like) initially said the car smelled like a dead body had been in it. Explain that defense team.
Will this be enough to convict Casey Anthony? Certainly (hopefully) the prosecution has more than that to tie Casey to the disappearance and death of her child.
Will this be another OJ fiasco? Will an overly zealous prosecution "blow" the case? Many are outraged over the behavior of Casey Anthony while her daughter was missing but are we convicting her before we hear her side of the story?
Being American gives us the right to be innocent until proven guilty. No matter how we feel about Casey Anthony- she deserves this right also.

Being American gives us the right to be innocent until proven guilty. No matter how we feel about Casey Anthony- she deserves this right also.
