Getting Away With Murder

So far, although the prosecution has shown that Casey Anthony is not such a nice person, they have not proved murder. In all fairness, the case is only going into day 12 of testimony and the forensic proof has only begun to be presented.

Saturday's testimony was in regards to what was found in the trunk of her car. The car which many witnesses already testified to as having a distinctive smell to it.

One hair that was Caylee's was found in the trunk and although the prosecution witnesses say it came from a dead body, the defense will be sure to point out that this may not be that easy to say.

The Body Farm expert that spent the entire day on the stand yesterday was interesting to listen to but honestly, the air testing that was done is not an exact science; again, room for reasonable doubt.

The defense does not need to prove what really happened to Caylee Marie Anthony. All the defense needs to do is to poke holes in the prosecution's case. In a case that is mostly circumstantial, this should not be difficult to do.

So far there is no smoking gun that points to Casey as the killer. Sure, we all hate Casey Anthony. She disgusts us because it is unfathomable that a mother would react to her daughter missing the way she did. Even if she did drown in the pool as the defense claims, because of all the lies that Casey has told it is difficult to feel sympathy for her. We cannot believe that she was sexually molested and that is why she reacted (or didn't react) the way she did.

Casey Anthony is a monster but unless the prosecution can prove its case, Casey Anthony may wind up back home with her dysfunctional family. I can see it now. Cindy Anthony telling the press that the state couldn't prove the case because Casey was not guilty. A woman who is becoming famous for walking through life with blinders on (she didn't know Casey was pregnant) and believed Caylee was alive even though her daughter's car smelled like a dead body will easily continue to stand by Casey even though she dragged her family through the mud.

It is hard to believe that there will be no strong enough proof that Casey did in fact kill her daughter Caylee. I can see it happening though. Public outrage over Caylee's death is not enough to convict even though it is easy to believe Casey was responsible. There needs to be concrete proof. There needs to be justice for Caylee.

Amongst all the trashing of this family we cannot forget that an innocent little girl is dead. Caylee deserves for her killer to be held responsible.

5 Reasons That Casey Anthony was NOT Sexually Abused  is a great list that questions the defense's claims. Written by a writer friend, I totally agree with her points. I am sure that you will also.

  1. Even if Casey Anthony was sexually abused, that has nothing to do with her murdering her innocent daughter! There's never an excuse for abusing a child! EVER!
